It’s time to bring this acclaimed sculpture back to life.

Worth Knowing: While not technically a tax deduction, information for those considering larger donations: Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) may help reduce your taxable income. If you’re age 70 ½ or older, you can transfer up to $100,000 directly from an IRA to a qualified charity, and that amount may be excluded from your taxable income. Please consult your tax attorney or investment tax specialist.

The ReLight the Sky Committee works toward restoring the iconic sculpture to its original glory and assure its maintenance for up to 25 years. The City View II Condominium Association invested $60,000+ to create the work specifications and help launch the campaign. Residents also have contributed more than $65,000 toward the fund-raising goal of $750,000.

Intensive outreach has begun to individual and corporate neighbors on The Parkway, in Logan Square, and The Art Museum area—and beyond—for financial support. Committee members have met with decision-makers able to give or help get contributions,

The ReLight the Sky Committee is partnering with the Parkway Council to serve as the fiscal sponsor for this project. The Parkway Council is a Philadelphia-based, Not-for-profit organization working to accelerate the transformation of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway into a great urban park for all.
